It’s been 6 months since I purchased this domain (pinayinvestor.com) and subscribed to my web hosting service, both from Hostgator. I only signed up for a 6-month subscription because all I wanted was to get started and see if I’ll be able to put up my own website from scratch without any background in web development and programming. I watched online tutorials and applied what I learned about how to build a website and create my own blog. There were so many challenges along the way, but I was determined to have my website. And so a week after I purchased my domain, Pinay Investor finally went live!
Six months passed and Pinay Investor is still alive. I managed to maintain this website and published posts as often as I possibly can. I met new people and some opportunities came through this website. My readers connected with me both via online by posting comments and offline by sending private messages and emails. I’m happy to have served some of them by answering their queries and by inspiring them to start their journey to financial freedom.
During its half year existence, I, as the founder and owner of Pinay Investor, what I originally wanted was to share my own experiences about personal finance from as simple as how I manage our household budget to as complex as how I learned to invest in the stock market. However, my goal, vision, and mission for this website were unclear. I wasn’t sure about my niche and the real purpose of having this.
In short, there was no clear concept of branding. I didn’t even intend to monetize this despite the expenses that I incurred for my domain and web hosting, the additional electricity consumption at home, and most importantly the value of my time and effort.
And while I’m still working on my business plan for this website, I decided to renew my web hosting subscription for another 6 months. So yes, Pinay Investor is still active and will continue to spread financial literacy and serve more people through this website. There will also be some additions and improvements to this blog, which I will share in my upcoming posts.
Thank you for your continued trust and support! 🙂
